USNO-SA 1.0 Astrometric Reference Catalog

The U.S. Naval Observatory SA1.0 is a catalog of 54,787,624 sources intended to provide a grid of astrometric reference objects over the whole sky. It is a spatially sub-sampled version of USNO-A1.0 Catalog which provides an astrometric reference catalog for asteroid hunters and other folks who do not need all of that 10-CDROM, 488,006,860-source catalog. The format is the same as USNO-A1.0.

Availability

This catalog has been replaced by the USNO-SA 2.0 Catalog. and is no longer distributed.

Catalog access software in C for Unix systems has been written by Jessica Mink at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Online access to the USNO reference catalogs is available through Lowell Observatory. Where catalog access software for UNIX and MS-DOS has been written by Bruce Koehn. Source (FORTRAN) and executable (MS-DOS only) code are available.
