Abstract |
We propose to obtain at the MMT stellar velocity dispersion measurements for 19 radio galaxies and at the FLWO 1.5 m narrow emission line fluxes for 16/19 sources in order to derive their black hole masses and accretion rates. These observations will allow us to test the recent claim that the FR I/FR II radio morphology dichotomy for radio galaxies can be mainly attributed to a change in accretion mode. The result will be a deeper understanding of the jet-accretion disk connection and the jet production mechanism in active galactic nuclei (AGN). |
