Abstract

The 2MACS (2MASS Abell Cluster Survey) project is a cleanly surveyed sample of 73 northern Abell clusters. By using the redshifts to obtain robust mass estimates to large radius, we plan to explore the low temperature behavior of x-ray mass-temperature scaling relation. It will enable further investigation of additional aspects of galaxy formation theories including : (1) variation in mass-to-light ratio with cluster mass and (2) change in the efficiency of galaxy formation with cluster mass (scaling of the dark matter halo occupation number with mass).
