Observing guidelines for Remote Observers on FAST Programs:
The highest priority programs will continue to be the redshift survey
programs --- #1, #3 and #5. This trimester the break should be fractionally
about 2/3 of the time to the ordinary cfA survey with a special emphasis on
finishing the region around 3C273 to a limiting magnitude of 15.5 and
about 1/3 of the time on the 15R survey objects. In the survey time
include the few observations needed for Dell'Antonio, Kenyon, Wilkes
and Kirshner as well as Prosser and the "Warpfire" cluster project.
Bright objects for Prosser, Stauffer, Kenyon etc. should be done preferentially
in grey time, twilight or on photometric conditions. The frequency of SN
observations for Kirshner should continue on the same rules as before:
yound SN should be observed frequently, older but still bright SN should be
observed at a frequency of about 1/3 - 1/4 of their age. A rule of thumb
for the Warpfire objects might be to spend 1 night per run on them. They'll
require a narrow slit and high S/N observations.
