XCSAO Templates used at the Center for Astrophysics

These are template spectra which we correlate with spectra from our low-dispersion spectrographs, FAST (long slit) and Hectospec (multi-fiber), to get redshift velocities.
ztemp dates from the old Z-Machine reticon spectrograph.
Spectra beginning with "f" were made for FAST.
Spectra beginning with "h" were made for Hectospec.
All of the "em" templates were synthesized using the IRAF rvsao.linespec task.
All spectra are linear with the dispersion in Angstroms per pixel given in the last column. Because of the importance of preserving shape in emission lines when they are being rebinned for cross-correlation, the synthetic emission line spectra are over-resolved. Bin them to your standard range using rvsao.sumspec to save time if cross-correlating lots of spectra with the same dispersion, remembering that if the redshifts vary and you iterate (re-rebin) to get the best template range match, you will still want the high resolution templates
