References
I believe that this event was originally predicted by Gordon Taylor in the
1970's.
It was later published in the 1987 paper,
Occultations of SAO Stars and IRAS Point Sources by Planets: 1988-1999,
by Douglas J. Mink,
presented as a poster talk at the 1987 meeting of the Division for
Planetary Sciences of the American Astronomical Society in Pasadena,
California.
The abstract
is in the Bulletin of the American Astronomical Society
volume 19, page 1150 (1987). This event can be found in the table of
Occultations of SAO Stars by Uranus
at this Web site.
In the photographic plate search for Uranus occultation candidate stars
conducted by Arnold Klemola of Lick
Observatory and Doug Mink, published in 1991 in The Astronomical
Journal, Volume 102, pages 389-394, this star stood out. The
abstract
and table of Uranus occultations
from that paper are online.
To see the importance of this event in perspective, check out
100 Years of
Occultations: A Statistical View
by Douglas J. Mink, presented at the 1995 meeting of the Division on Dynamical
Astronomy of the American Astronomical Society in Yosemite National Park,
in April 1995.
For that presentation, occultations of PPM stars by Uranus from 1950 to 2050
were
tabulated and
plotted.
