Using IRAF at the Center for Astrophysics

This is how you set up your environment to run the various versions of IRAF supported by the Telescope Data Center.

Locally Developed IRAF Packages

The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory Telescope Data Center creates and maintains software to process and archive data from optical telescopes at the Whipple Observatory and MMT Observatory on Mt. Hopkins in Arizona. The software is freely distributed and documented online.

hectospec

an IRAF package containing a variety of tasks for reducing multifiber spectra from the Hectospec and Hectochelle spectrographs on the MMT.

rvsao

an IRAF package for finding radial velocities from spectra

saotdc

an IRAF package for with various utilities for dealing with data

svdfit

an IRAF package for performing singular value decomposition on stacked spectra and removing the weighted eigenvectors which are found from other spectra.
